Application Fee

Please remember that, in order to process your application, we must receive your application fee:
Undergraduate programmes - 65 EURO or 50 GBP
Graduate Programmes - 80 EURO or 65 GBP
PhD - 140 EURO or 85 GBP

Once we receive your application, our team will contact you with details of our bank account. The payment for the Application Fee can be made through bank transfer to Investec Bank (Mauritius).

Important Note
It has been reported that fraudsters make false pretences and deceive prospective students by receiving Tuition Fees on behalf of CIM (BVI) through scam bank accounts. The only legal bank account that CIM (BVI) holds is with INVESTEC BANK, MAURITIUS.

 

Upon receiving your application and fee, our admissions office will process it. If you fulfil all the requirements and your application is successful, we will send you an admission letter, together with all the details regarding your chosen programme. Upon receiving the first instalment of your fees, we will send you your Student ID.

Entry Requirements


Undergraduate programmes

Entry Requirements are flexible and vary but we generally demand:

For entry into Year 1 (Diploma):
(a) Secondary School Leaving Certificate with a satisfactory mark
OR
(b) 5 GCSEs
OR
(c) the equivalent qualifications (to GCSEs) in your country of education
AND
(d) proof of good use of English (IELTS/TOEFL/GCSE or equivalent) 

For entry into Year 2 (Advanced Diploma):
(a) Diploma in Marketing Management from CIM (BVI)
OR
(b) OND/BTEC or equivalent
OR
(c) Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) or similar body
OR
(d) 60 ECTS from an accredited EU University in a related field or equivalent credits in the country of your education

For entry into Year 3 (Bachelor):
(a) Advanced Diploma from CIM (BVI)
OR
(b) HND/BTEC
OR
(c) 120 ECTS from an accredited EU University in a related field or equivalent credits in the country of your education
OR
(d) Professional qualifications, such as the Professional Diploma in Marketing of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) or the American Institute of Bankers or Chartered Institute of Bankers
OR
(e) Membership of the UK Institute of Certified Chartered Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Bankers, the Chartered Insurance Institute or any other Award from relevant Professional Bodies in the discipline in which you wish to study

 

Graduate programmes

Entry Requirements are flexible and are based not only on a candidate’s proven academic ability, motivation, and experience as a manager or business executive, but also on the benefits that he or she is likely to derive from the programme. The usual minimum academic qualifications required are:

(a) A first degree in any discipline from CIM (BVI)
OR
(b) A good degree from an internationally-accredited university
OR
(c) A Professional Qualification in a subject such as Accounting, Marketing, Insurance, Shipping etc., from a Chartered Examining Body.

 
Research programmes (PhD)


To apply for a PhD, you must hold:
a) A very good Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification
AND
b) A very good Masters degree

Professional qualifications and relevant experience may be taken into account for entry to a PhD programme where applicants do not have a Bachelors degree. 
 
All applicants must, however, have a Masters degree. For the Masters degree, we require an overall grade of 60 or above; B or above; GPA of 3 or above. Grading schemes of some institutions may vary so please provide an official grading scheme with your transcripts.
 
All applicants to the PhD programme are required to submit a research proposal. Your application will be considered as incomplete unless a proposal is included.

The research proposal will be used to assess your aptitude for doctoral research and your ability to outline a research project that is suitable for a PhD.

We also recommend that you provide a personal statement outlining your general interests in studying a PhD, your personal motivations for doing so and any flexibility in your chosen area(s) of research.


English Language Proficiency

For admission to all levels - Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor, Master, or PhD - you need to provide evidence of good use of English. 
You will be exempt from providing an IELTS/TOEFL/Pearson/IGCSE score if you are a native English speaker or if you have graduated from an Anglophone institution within the last five years. However, even in cases where a candidate has graduated from an Anglophone Institution, the Admissions Officer has the right to ask for further proof of good English from the candidate if he or she are not satisfied about their ability to communicate in English.
 
Generally, we demand the following scores: 
  • IELTS: 6.0 (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component)
  • TOEFL: 100 internet-based (with a minimum of 25 in each component - internet based) or 623 paper-based.
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 66 (with a minimum of 51 in each component)
  • IGCSE - C
Please note that we do not accept English scores that are over five years' old at the time of application to the programme. If you do not currently have a TOEFL/IELTS/PTE/IGCSE score report when you submit your application, please indicate the date that you will be taking the test.

The decision of the Board regarding admissions will be final. No reason for acceptance or rejection will be given to candidates or to anyone else. CIM (BVI) reserves the right to vary its admission criteria from time to time. The Admissions Officer is responsible for the interpretation of the admission criteria and may impose other conditions to be satisfied before admission.
